What is BLAME?
BLAME stands for
Blast
Made
Easy. It can be seen as an enhanced GUI for the
NCBI's stand alone BLAST. In a nutshell BLAME users can:
- Create their own personal BLAST databases.
- Perform custom BLAST searches using their own private data.
- Save results into projects.
- Plot statistics and analysis between projects.
- Visualize, save or delete BLAST results from an intuitive web interface.
The phylosophy behind BLAME is to provide users with a
clean graphical interface,
from where their BLAST jobs can be customized, visualized and analyzed, without the restrictions
present in all BLAST public servers around the world.
Who are the developers?
Main developer is
Andres Pinzon (if something goes wrong ...BLAME him!), followed by
Luis M. Rodriguez,
both from the
Bioinformatics Center at the Biotechnology Institute, National University of Colombia.
